Frassman

On the 31st of May, a very talented FRASSMAN (born Nicoy Salmon in Kingston, Jamaica) entered the world. Frassman spent much of his early years in Rock Hall, St. Andrew before moving with his parents to live in Waltham  Park, Kingston-13. The lanky six footer, who is an avid footballer, played in many competitions throughout his school years.Frassman began his music career while in preparatory school attending Kingston’s Calvery Prep. Frassman showcased his talent at every major event and festival for the school but was torn between being a soccer star and a deejay. While rising to the top of the charts in the soccer league, his older brother Delon Reid was making a name as Jamaica’s hottest producer on the dancehall scene (Manatee Records). Frassman is no newcomer to the reggae and dancehall scene.

Like most reggae artist Frassman eventually got his break making Dub plates for the sound systems, which would play his specials at major events throughout the international community. Frassman’s rise in the dancehall community was further pushed by rave performances on the “Sting Reggae Festival” (2001), billed as the most premier reggae festival in the world. He was chosen as the youngest Dancehall artist on the “Sting Reggae Festival” (2002) in Miami, where he received rave reviews.

Frassman quieted a restless crowd during the “Sum Fest Reggae Concert” (2002) in Jamaica. FrassmanHe later proved that he was the upcoming star everyone had expected during the “Boom Blast Concert” (2002) in Jamaica. Frassman has also performed on the “Fire-2000 Reggae Tour” featuring Sanchez, Capleton and Bounty Killa. The song “Bling Bling” came in 2000 after recording on the Virus Riddim, which featured many establish artists including Mr. Vegas and Capleton to name a few. His follow-up single “Zoom Zoom” on the G-Spot Riddim was a chart breaker in Kingston (2002).

Today, Frassman is making noise with songs like: “Weed Head” featuring Elephant Man, “We Gonna” featuring Laza Morgan, and “Pump up the Jam” featuring Lisa Hyper courtesy of N.S. Music Enterprise. Frassman is expected to turn up the “ting” in 2013 with his soon to be released track “Bad Company” and his newest single that’s ripping the airwaves “Dat Nuh Hard Fi Do”.
